This blog isn’t very political but I find it hard to disagree with the beliefs described in the Euston Manifesto.

But a commenter on Comment Is Free, does raise a good point, a lot of the manifesto does appear to be just this

Somebody points out that the amount of money spent on the Vietnam War could have instead given each Vietnamese thirty years’ worth of their income, perhaps creating gooodwill.
Although reddit commenters point out that the war benefited the US economy, creating jobs, etc. and that this should be taken into account.
