The Aural Times

Waxy points to The Aural Times, which has one of the best taglines I’ve ever seen:

We Sing the News so You Don’t Have To

It really sums up the site which simply features random musical versions of the current headlines.

  1. (Electronics) Actual starsThe reason I purhcased these headphones were because my dad wanted a pair of headphones when he went to work out and go about his daily routine. After doing some research for the best headphone at the best value ($25 and below) we decided to purchase this pair of headphones. After testing it for a while, I must say, I am quite pleased with this headphones. They’re not the best quality of sound and of course have lack quite a bit in comparison to Beats, higher-priced Sennheiser’s, and so on, but they’re good value for your money.First I would like to briefly discuss sound quality, the quality of the sound compared to the standard iPod earphones are a bit better and sometimes even a bit more deeper. Compared to the standard earphones, these are pretty solid. However, in most of the songs that I hear, the sound is a bit muffled, to say the least. Personally for me, it results in a better song some times, other times it doesn’t really improve the sound quality. When you listen to any song, you can hear the precussion or the drums very well, can be an advantage or a disadvantage depending on the way you view your music. I tested this out on quite a few genres; Hip Hop, rock, ambient, slow rock, rap, and a few others. I have to say I’m not taken aback by the sound quality itself, but it’s not disappointing for the money you pay for it.One last thing, I also use these headphones when I’m on the computer sometimes, I’ve watched a few interviews online and it’s very interesting what noises this headphone picks up in a way. I tend to better hear sometimes the background noise when the person is talking (such as cars and buses and pedestrians) than the ongoing interview. Personally, it’s not a distraction to me but I can see it being a slight distraction to others. Finally, the earphone fits well on my ears, I’m almost 6’0 so I didn’t have any major problems with it such as my ears hurting. Although when I first put it on, my ears used to itch a little bit, but that’s something you get used to in a while.Overall, if you’re not on any type of a budget, feel free to purchase a more expensive type of headphone that has better quality. However, for those who have are on a budget or just want a better alternative than the average earphones, this is a good, not great, buy. Thank you for reading.
